Congress gets to taste its own medicine; Modi launches 'Manmohan Maun Yojana'

After humiliating defeats in the 2014 General Elections and also in the recently concluded Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Congress finally have something to 'cheer' about. After relabeling most of the national public welfare schemes named after Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, Modi is looking forward to launch a new scheme after one of Congress's most 'revered' leader and former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
"Manmohan Maun Yojana", an elated Modi quipped soon after news poured in of BJP's majority in both the Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference though he is mostly seen in rallies campaigning for the BJP if not on a foreign trip or inspection of disaster struck areas, Modi explained what and how he plans to unfold a new scheme aimed at bringing in the 'necessary' political reforms in the current scenario.
He explained," There is an ever growing support in favor of the BJP and there is no denying this fact as can be seen by the mandate of the people. Main aap sabka Pradhan sevak hun and India's development is the topmost priority, and hence in accordance with the public aspirations I plan to launch a new scheme by the name Manmohan Maun Yojana." The press look startled but what followed completely established what a great leader Modi is. He continued," Under this scheme, the government will 'reward' parties who remain 'silent' and not question the motives, agenda, execution or anything done by the BJP. This will save us the time spent on explaining why what we are doing is in best interest of the country because obviously, we will do it anyway."
A reporter luckily had the opportunity to seek the opinion of Amit Shah who was headed towards his chopper and he replied," This is an excellent move by Narendra bhai. Time is money and by saving time spent of petty debates on whether or not we are right with a known outcome is a huge disgrace to the tax payer's money. Be assured, our development is synonymous with India's development." On being further questioned he said," I have seen a number of articles and visuals on blogs and sites and I believe that even sites should be included under this scheme. Showing the flip side of coin or the genesis of public opinion is a barrier to India's development."
Though there certainly is going to be a heated debate on the bill in the Lok Sabha but if this bill sees the light of day as a law Lok Sabha certainly will be a peaceful place where laws will be passed swiftly without let, garrulous talks, public display of currency, handling of microphones. The move certainly aims at preserving the sanctity of the Indian Parliament.

India : Where Hypocrisy Rules

Before I begin with anything else, contrary to what you might have judged when you read the title, this post not only talks about the hypocrisy of Indian politicians but am also critical of a major segment of people who manifest the same sense of hypocrisy.

The PM oath ceremony is going to be held in less than 2 days from now. This time a whole lot of leaders from neighboring countries have been invited and many have confirmed their esteemed presence. The eyes of the world will be on India when the world's largest democracy's most popular leader swears in as the PM. Then as the cameras pan out on to the various distinguished guests, at one point a certain Mr. Salman Khan waives at the camera. Wait a minute! Salman Khan, the Bollywood superstar, isn't he the guy accused in the Hit and Run case, poaching of a Black Buck, remarks on 26/11 stating that Pakistan must not be blamed for the attack instead Indian Forces failed to act swiftly.

What message does the common man watching this on T.V. infers from it. The message is loud and clear - "Money power is above the law, ethics, and principles." A fundamental question that arises is what is the credibility of tall promises made by Narendra Modi that under his leadership even the poorest of the poor will get justice when under his nose people with massive corruption charges like Yeddyurappa, Gadkari and numerous others are in race for being a Cabinet Minister. But we should not raise our voice on such issues as if we do, we alienate ourselves from the mainstream people and land up in Tihar jail.

In recent times Kejriwal- The lone crusader of the IAC since Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Gen. V.K. Singh all have joined hands with parties they criticized at one point of time and have started criticizing Kejriwal. But it's not these hypocrites who are ever criticized or subjected to dirty gimmicks by the media. Court has sent Kejriwal to Tihar jail on account of not paying the bail amount but there is no question on why has there been zilch progress in complaint against Gadkari. And people blindly read there newspapers in the morning with headline - "Street Drama of Kejriwal begins".

Had Kejriwal wanted to win a LS seat he could have easily chosen some safe constituency but he chose Varanasi after Modi declared he would contest from there. Infact after Kejriwal announced that he will contest from Varanasi against Modi, the latter also filled nomination for a Gujrat seat too knowing well he will have to step down if he won from both and do injustice with people but he could not leave his becoming MP in peril.

The best part, people all over India criticize Kejriwal as if they know him inside out. Kejriwal due to strong projection by media as an anarchist fool has become the target of ire of every individual and personally I congratulate BJP,Congress and all other parties on their strategy to defame Kejriwal in which they have been highly successful.

IT TOOK 90 MORE YEARS TO GAIN INDEPENDENCE AFTER REVOLT OF 1857, IF PEOPLE LOOSE FAITH IN 'AAP' IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 100 YEARS FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN.

So, I urge all citizens of India to atleast do some research before forming your opinion and not follow media projection blindly.

Kejriwal: Modi a tangent, Advani an asymptote, and Rahul a parallel line to the PM chair

Arvind Kejriwal, on the eve of counting day, put on a brave face and took jibes at the figures widely thought to have been in the running for the Prime Minister’s position. Kejriwal said Narendra Modi is like a tangent to the PM’s chair, who might be able to meet the chair, but only once and never again.
“AAP will be like a sine curve”
“In comparison,” he said, “if AAP comes to power, it will be like a sinusoidal curve intersecting the PM chair curve again and again till infinity.”
“Advani an asymptote, Rahul a parallel line”
Modi-vs-Kejriwal
“Modi is just a tangent to the PM’s chair; he will only touch it once if at all”
Kejriwal termed Bhartiya Janta Party’s ‘Patriarch’ L.K Advani’s Prime Ministerial ambition analogous to an asymptote saying that he will only keep on getting closer to the chair but will never be able to actually sit on it. Kejriwal also attacked the Congress Vice-President, Mr. Rahul Gandhi comparing his ambition of the PM’s chair to a parallel line justifying by adding that he can never ever even get close to the chair. “I was going to say ‘skew lines’ but it might have been too complex for some people”, he quipped, laughing loudly at his own joke.
Advani: Ab ki baar Modi sarkar
While L.K. Advani was critical of Kejriwal’s remarks at first, after due ‘respect’ was bestowed upon him by senior leaders, he welcomed the statement. “Ab ki baar Modi Sarkar (sigh)”. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, gave a befitting answer to Kejriwal saying he has always been weak in Sanskrit. It was followed by a roaring applause from the Congress intellectuals.
Mayawati tears into Kejriwal
Behen Kunwari Mayawati feeling left out, launched an attack on Kejriwal, claiming that he is trying to humiliate the downtrodden and ‘Pichda Varg’ by citing such examples of high intellect and reassured the Dalits that she would complain to the EC to stop such malpractices.
In other news, the world’s largest democracy’s most entertaining general elections will conclude on 16th May and the News agencies have started scrounging into Salman Khan’s marriage debate again and contacting Nirmal Baba as these important issues have been left far behind owing to the elections.

Criminal Waste of Money - I.P.L.

The stage is set, the players are sold, the venues decided, the cheer girls going gaga, the betting season in full thrust, lakhs and crores been spent already and much much more in store - Welcome to the Indian Premier League. Once again we will be 'enraptured' in the amalgam of cricket, business and entertainment. But wait a minute who does 'we' signify above? Does it entail to the 32.7% Indians living below the Poverty Line or even to the 68.7% who are able to earn about $2 a day and are considered rich by our Government.

A country like India where poverty is so widespread that 96.90% of people earn less than $5 a day, its hard to imagine something like I.P.L. happening while farmers commit suicide, people striving hard to their earn bread, children being abducted, our police using outdated weapons on account of limited funds and the list is endless.

Now lets take a look at the income of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (B.C.C.I.). In 2010-11 the gross income of B.C.C.I. stood at a whooping 868.03 crores and after an 'expenditure' of about 678.31 crores its surplus was 189.72 crores. Similarly in 2011-12 its gross income increased to 1043.11 crores and after the expenses it made a cool profit of 296.31 crores.

A look at the expenditure by the B.C.C.I. reveals king size expenditure on salaries of top officials, renovation of their offices, bearing the expenses of the extravagant life style of players, payment to 5 star hotels and a lot more. And to top it all, the B.C.C.I. sought to evade taxes by citing that its activities are charitable.

An R.T.I. application revealed the board owed the tax department 500 crores. According to India Today the IT department has slammed the board with a tax burden of 2300 crores claiming its activities commercial which I believe is true. No progress has been made so far.

I.P.L. turns out to be one of the highest earning branch of the B.C.C.I. Sure we do get 3 hours of excitement and fun filled journey to millions and billions of cricket fans worldwide but what after it. We spend our hard earnt money and the players fill their pockets and the BCCI earn its profit. What do we get?

If some say it is a business then let me assure you it is not business in true form since no real product is created out of it. Its not pure cricket too. The country does not get anything out of it. The economy doesn't get any better. I am not saying that cricket is bad but it should be considered a game and not made a religion and cricketers God.

What should be done is that the income raised through cricket which is huge ours being a cricket crazy nation should be under government control and it should be spent on bringing reforms to the country. A cricketer is also doing a job for himself and should get a reasonable salary and not something as 'paltry' as 3.5 million USD like Dhoni. Lets bank on our love for cricket to raise funds to elevate the poor, build schools, provide hospitals and i am sure it would even lead to big gains in future to all the society but only if it is done. Let cricketers and experts handle BCCI and  their income be under government control. All i am saying is lets live cricket and enjoy it as we always do but also atleast begin to introspect and question of what happens with the money and what can be done about it and not blindly worship and idolize cricketers.

AAP's Governance - Feat or Fiasco

The political parties which considered AAP as the 'underdog' were taken aback when Delhi Assembly election results were announced on 9th December, 2013 and the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party secured 28 seats (well at that moment they won 28 only, Binny left afterwards) and stormed their way into to Vidhan Sabha to take up the task of forming the government - a government by the people, of the people and for the people. However this elected government tenure was short-lived and lasted for just 49 days.

A look back at what the AAP Government did in this short period is worth mentioning before categorizing it as a fiasco or a win over the traditional politics this country is used to. So lets take a look at the steps and laws enacted by the Arving Kejriwal led Government :

i.  MANIFESTO :- The manifesto of AAP promised 20 kilo litres of free water(666.66 litres     everyday) to every household in the state.
REALITY CHECK :- 2 days after coming into power the AAP Government announced 667 litres of free water to every household in Delhi having a valid connection.
CONTROVERSY :- Well people say they said every household was promised and they gave free water only to households with valid connection. Decide yourself.

ii. MANIFESTO :- Electricity bills will be slashed by almost 50% by ordering audit of the discoms and rectifying of inflated electricity bills and checking of meters by independent organization. Those not cooperating their license would be cancelled.
REALITY CHECK :- Electricity prices slashed by 50% by providing subsidy and ordering audit of the discoms. Also IIT-Delhi and Delhi Technological University called upon for checking of electricity meters.
CONTROVERSY :- Why subsidy is being given they should slash down prices.
CLARIFICATION :- Audit would have revealed the reality of the 'loss incurrence' by discoms and then the price would have automatically come down.

iii. 90% reservation in colleges fully funded by Delhi Government.

iv. Anti-Corruption helpline and turning each phone into a sting operation instrument.

v.Claiming Delhi needs jobs, Kejriwal scraps nod to FDI in retail.

vi. 27352524 - Nursery Admission Helpline activated.

vii. Opens up CWG scam files.

viii. SIT probe in 1984 sikh riots.

ix. Not driven by lust for power AAP government resigns accounting for non compliance by the other sitting parties on issue of Jan Lokpal Bill.

49 days and several points worth applauding. No other government in the country has forced the politicos to question the hefty money spent on their security and VIP culture. He bacame a symbol of an ordinary citizen in a short span of time. He went on dharna even as CM while he could have rested comfortably in his new found regime. For the first time someone was able to raise voice against the richest man in the country and business tycoon Mr. Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani.

Yet media coverage has been constantly defaming and tainting his image. Thanks to social media platforms that people get to know the reality.

Moreover people who say he is ambitious and is doing all this for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Why was he so adamant on getting the Lokpal passed before the session was over and why he didn't wait till the next session after the General Elections. Because this is the time to strike every chord as political parties are under a close watch of the people and are accounted for every activity. After elections no one will care what AAP is doing as for the next 5 years they would be safe. This is the real reason he was hell-bent on getting passed the Lokpal.

For people who say that Arvind Kejriwal acted like an anarchist and he is a quitter have to realize he resigned with a hope that people understand and relate to his dream of clean politics and vote for him and they would bounce back even stronger than before.

Had he wanted to escape he would have not filed a petition against the implementation of President's Rule in Delhi. So i urge the citizens of Delhi and India as a whole to understand that it is the projection by the media and political leaders in the wrong light which has led us into thinking that AAP had no governance and acted irresponsibly. Decide for yourself if they deserve another chance and don't just follow blindly what the other parties want us to see.

(A NEW STATE was created in the total blackout of the official broadcast and a bill was not allowed to be even discussed in the light of day. Anarchist Kejriwal - Really?)

Why the Indian Rupee is tumbling?

To get started first we need to check out the Rupee VS Dollar relationship over a period of time. I start from the time of Independence but the crisis of 1991 led to a severe devaluation of money and in 1993 exchange rates were left to be controlled by market sentiments with the central government intervention in case of extreme volatility.

1948-1962 :       4.79 Rupee against a Dollar

1966           :     7.57 Rupee against a Dollar

1975           :     8.39 Rupee against a Dollar

1985           :     12 Rupee against a Dollar

1991           :     17.90 Rupee against a Dollar

1993           :     31.37 Rupee against a Dollar

2000-2010  :      40-50 Rupee against a Dollar

As am writing this, the current exchange rate is 62.13 Rupees against a Dollar while the lowest Rupee-Dollar exchange rate was recorded to be 68.80 Rupees against a Dollar.

Now as you might have noticed on the Indian Rupee note : "I promise to pay the bearer a sum of X Rupees" with the signature of the Governor of R.B.I. This means if by any chance you loose faith in the currency then you can exchange what you have in hand with gold of equal amount. This means for every rupee that enters the economy it is backed by gold of equal amount.

Here the American Dollar comes into picture as Americans were quick to see the potential power of Petrol and its importance at par with gold. Hence they signed an agreement with the Middle East countries that they would offer them protection from external attacks in return of which they will sell petrol only in exchange for American Dollar.

Suppose India wants to buy petrol , so it asks the Middle East countries to supply petrol but they don't recognize the Indian Rupee. Hence India would ask U.S.A. to provide it Dollars in exchange for Rupee. So far so good as long as India buys petrol from the Middle East. But if we don't require that much quantity of petrol and ask America to exchange its dollars , America would simply say that is there anything written on the American Dollar which has been promised. It is simply put is a Debt.

The reality is American white paper is equivalent to a hefty amount of Indian rupee which they can print suiting to their whims.

So whoever is reading this, the one and only panacea to this problem is to increase the production, consumption and dependence on Indian manufactured goods as this would decrease the criminal outflow of Indian Rupee outside as the foreign products we buy at hefty prices are in fact very cheaply produced. Hence , the only way is to increase our dependence in Indian goods, only then can we move ahead in saving our Rupee from tumbling further down and raise it to its former glory.

Basis of Reservation-Caste or Class?

Well first of all to clear any doubts am not against reservation as a concept but am opposed to the strategy which has been adopted to implement it.

Before going any further let us try to understand the need for reservation.

Reservation is necessary for the upliftment of people who by themselves are not being able to break the shackles of poverty and cannot dare to dream and compete with the people with means and hence denied an opportunity and access to education which is the only way for them to climb out of the rut of vicious cycle they are in.

However our political parties have created such a powerful image in our heads that when it comes to reservation we only are able to think of people from the Scheduled Castes,Schedules Tribes and OBC's living their lives in penury that we seldom question the concept of Caste based Reservation.

It is said that Caste based Reservation is required for giving equal opportunities to the section of people who have been tormented and denied even basic necessities of life owing to the caste they were born into. Ofcourse it is true that for time immemorial people from the 'lower' castes as they call it have been subjected to a life which is hard to imagine for any of us and possibly I can never fully understand the denial, rejection and inhumane behavior they have been put through and possibly even facing today and till now it only seems logical that caste based reservation is what is required to give these people at least a hope to live of as equals.

But this ray of hope is tainted with darkness. Caste based reservation is only proving to be an eyewash since its real beneficiaries are people from upper rung of the ladder of these classes. The real beneficiaries are not people who cannot afford books, healthy environment, good schools and expensive coaching but they are the people who live in sprawling bungalows and apartments, dine at exquisite restaurants, sleep in the comfort of a cozy bed and buy more books than they can possibly read.

So is the situation improving? A clear answer is NO. What was supposed to bridge the gap between years of discrimination is creating yet another class of people. A group of people Have's and another Have Not's within the same castes and the reservation is only being played in the hands of these have's of the so called lower castes.

Yet no political party today can say it will put an end to reservation based on caste as even before it has finished saying so it would have already lost not because the parties and various groups which bank and thrive upon this single divide would bring down the party's offices, tear down their posters, the media would project the party as 'Danger to Democracy' and a 'Threat to the Concept of India' and make the people loose faith in that party but also because we as citizens stay quiet and accept what is happening feeling helpless to bring about any change or even be a part of the change.

But the question is what is the suitable substitute for Caste based Reservation. In my opinion reservation should be based on class rather caste since it takes within its stride people called 'INDIANS' who are struggling to make both ends meet and yet dream a future for themselves and for their children.

Of course am not being naive to imagine an ideal situation where in this basis too people with means would turn out to be the real beneficiaries and that too those people would now run into almost 4 times the number earlier. But now there would be a change in situation. Everybody would try to get reservation (come on even the 'general' class today wants reservation) but not all will succeed and then they would not let people in the same situation as theirs reap the benefits of reservation. A regulatory authority need is indispensable and after some more measures after critically analyzing the situation (that is what the parliament is supposed to do) i believe the real beneficiaries would get their share.

(This is based in the backdrop of the recent drama which took place in the Congress party where after a Congressman advocated for class based reservation , Mrs. Sonia Gandhi quickly retaliated by saying Caste based Reservation is a product of Congress and it would continue to 'CHAMPION' it...God knows what champion it means... )
